If you are one of the people who Mourns the loss of Genesis and Pink Floyd you can take this and Marillion's Marbles for a spin.
It's a wet and miserable January morning in 2018, 17 years after the original issue of this album. I lower the needle of my Rega P3 and wait in excited anticipation. The opening synth textures and lead guitar work are reminiscent of Floyd's Shine On but the break comes much sooner delivering an altogther top notch track. The timeless digital bell synth sample on the opening of Dance of the Seven Veils provides the foundation for another blistering Prog track. I love the blend of Nick Barrett vocals, lead guitar and rhythm section on All Over Now. I have read different perspectives on NB's vocals and I have to say that for me the vocals fit the music perfectly and it is easy to distinguish every word in the meaningful lyrics. NB is a truly underrated guitarist. In time I can see this album gaining classic status like Wish You Were Here! I've got to get Masquerade Overture on vinyl now.
