Not to imply that Orchid is bad or that it’s not worth listening to, but Mornigrise serves as a major step forward in solidifying a sonic identity Opeth could be recognized by. Akerfeldt has always had one of the best growls in the business as far as I’m concerned.
This is a great and dynamic sophomore LP.
Pretty much hate it due to the infernal growl/snarl which just about ruins every track:
Best track- To Bid You Farewell- No growl/snarl.
