“Em Nome Da Estrela” has some neat tricks to it. The lyricism is very unusual for its genre. França describes feelings with cosmic imagery and sci-fi tropes like mutants. The drumming is distinctly sharp and cutting. It feels mechanical even though it’s done on a live set. Beyond these quirks, the album is not impactful. Not awful but never musically or emotionally entrancing.
