Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 71.1/100, a mean average of 70.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 71.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.6.

A return to form after the overlong Reflektor and the wildly inconsistent Everything Now. Lovely and uplifting in many places, heartbreaking in others, and some of the best lyrics the band has ever put down.
Pretty mid. A bunch of soft-pop ballads with no standouts

I didn't hate it. I didn't love it. It just didn't grab me.

Arcade Fire stepping into their elder millennial dad (and mom) rock shoes, perhaps by design the attempts to speak to modern day anxieties are mixed but works very well when it delivers those heart-on-its-sleeve arena-thumping art pop that they've delivered constantly in the past. Mostly toe-tapping nostalgia at it's best, but unlike the past album the lesser tracks are still listenable.

Just to clarify Will Butler departed AF AFTER this album was completed to actually spend more time with his young family and NOT jumping a sinking ship as some have claimed
If indeed this is to be Arcade Fires final album its a fine fine farewell album after 2017’s complete misstep ‘Everything Now’
For mine this ones a contender for 2022 AOTY
An over hated album that really isn't as bad as people make it out to be. Certainly not their best work but still full of catchy melodies and fun songs.
Definitely not breaking any real new ground for Arcade Fire but such an enjoyable romp nonetheless!
it's a great pleasure to listen to this album at the end of the day from beginning to end drinking a beer, free-spirited just enjoying the art of these fantastic musicians.
This a great great album. 100/100
