I've heard this album many times, but hadn't for a long time. It's one of Laura's best vocal performances over the course of an album in her early years, and features fantastic backup singing from LaBelle. Nice arrangements and production, too.

Really brilliant album. While her fantastic originals are missed, the choice of covers is superb, and as expected from Nyro they are interpreted, arranged and performed excellently and with great emotion. The inclusion of the Labelle singing trio really lifts the album up too. Highlights include the beautiful Desiree and The Bells.
A thoroughly enjoyable covers album from the brilliant Laura Nyro. Great performances and songs make this a light distraction from her more complexed records. Great fun.
