Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 3% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.7/100, a mean average of 77.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.3.

Not sure why "Strange Kind of Woman" is not on the European version, as it is easily the best song on the album.

The B-side of this album is an uneven accomplishment, country song, and a mix of prog style pieces. Drops the overall rating by 5.

Great album. Very under rated. All MK II albums are all on very level par (as in all fucking great) and this is up there with them. That is what defines Deep Purple as one of the all time greatest rock acts to emerge, the amount of legendary albums to come out in a short time span. MK II that is, didn't like where it headed with Coverdale.

A good, driving, hard rock album. Gillan and Blackmore really shine. I like The Mule, Fools and yes, even the comedic Anyone's Daughter. A must have.

This is a very underrated Deep Purple album. Ian Gillan's voice was exceptional here... like always. And Blackmore... well Blackmore is a god.

My version of Fireball has Demon's Eye and not Strange King of Woman. Inclusion of both tracks would have made this album rather special. Besides the title track there are many good songs. I like Anyone's Daughter even if the lyrics are a little silly.
