Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 65.4/100, a mean average of 63.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 64.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.7.

I got into this album when it was released in 1976 - something about the album got into my dna at the time (I loved it) ~ but listening back, it's not as great as I remember. I did like that Eric had acquired Dylan's 'Sign Language' and on the recording he had Bob duetting with him & Robbie Robertson joining in on guitar. Dylan never recorded his own version of the song ~ and with that historical fact, I have included Eric's version of 'Sign L:anguage' on my 'top 100 Dylan covers' chart.
I think that since Cream Eric made albums that are very poppy and lame, and this is one of the many.
Another underrated release like the preceding album There’s One in Every Crowd but I would argue there are stronger songs such as Beautiful Thing, Hello Old Friend & Double Trouble. Worth a 1st or repeated listen definitely some gems.
Comes from what I'd refer to as Clapton's lazy period or maybe he'd just lost his mojo. Pretty much dialing it in. Some nice stuff but...........
Forgettable.
Mediocre material from a once great rock star.
fairly average considering all involved
There is a lot of talent on this album (Bob Dylan, The Band, Ron Wood) but it doesn't really add up to much. Great playing as always, but most of the songs are flat and forgettable. Best song is probably Double Trouble. Last Night and County Jail Blues are also decent, but most of the rest is pretty disposable.
