Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 80.2/100, a mean average of 79.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 80.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.9.

Great hard rock concept album that is a classic mixture of progressive and metal music. A three piece band, I consider to be one of the best bands ever. Peart's drumming skills are simply out of this world. The 1st track is an interesting listen but a shorter length song like “The Twilight Zone” is a favorite.

What a way to kick off an album! They begin with a 20 minute prog epic that absolutely blows me away with every listen. The instrumentation, composition, vocals and everything else about it is just stellar and it gives the listener a fantastic experience. It is really difficult to follow a song like that up and it leads to the rest of the record feeling quite deflated. You do have some enjoyable moments such as A Passage To Bangkok and Something For Nothing that help to elevate side 2 but it is still lacking in comparison. None of it is bad, in fact for the majority it is still very strong musically and instrumentally. It also has some great vocal moments from Geddy Lee who excels all across this release. Overall, this is an elite level album that has 20 minutes of some of the greatest music Rush has ever created and then some decent tracks backing it up.

Epic album, the first track is unbelievable and the second has great melody, then it goes a little worse but the tracks are still good, but not great.

This is a difficult album to rate. Side 1 has the classic epic 2112, starting a string of great Rush records. The other side is mediocre and salvaged mostly by brilliant musicianship.

It is a must-listen for every prog fan. If only for side 1.

Puta viagem sem sair do lugar. Os solos de guitarra são precisos e a bateria, pra variar, perfeita.

2112 is fantastic, no doubt about that. However, I am not so positive about side 2 of the album. Yeah, they're OK songs, but nothing to be fascinated about. Sure, I have the perspective of 2020, which is not the same from the perspective of the late 70's and 80's where prog rock was not in its best shape and this album probably was important in that sense.
