The Well I Fell Into is the eighth studio album by the American indie band WHY?, released on August 2, 2024.
It is a deeply personal concept album written by frontman Yoni Wolf. The record chronicles the aftermath of a major breakup and the slow process of finding one's footing again after a period of emotional "freefall."
The album was recorded in various locations, including a converted church in Wisconsin. Critics have called it some of Yoni Wolf’s most honest and transparent songwriting to date, moving away from abstract metaphors toward direct emotional storytelling.
