Oh! Vanity and You Cross My Path were the best songs. The first one had a dab of the North Country Boy magic.

This is my top Charlatans album as well. It was a refreshing and surprisingly successful change in direction for them. By the way, folks might recall that the band released 'You Cross My Path' as a free legal download - the link to that download is below, in case anyone might prefer to 'own' rather than stream this album :

This is my favourite Charlatans album. Clearly inspired by New Order circa Low-Life which is no bad thing. Bird/Reprise is my favourite Charlatans track. Great sound!
Other than the title track, nothing worth listening to on this album. Their quality control really went out of the window on this.
