Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 5% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.4/100, a mean average of 75.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.9.

This album is a little bit muddled in terms of quality. You have great tracks like Plush and Creep and if the whole album matched the level of those two songs the album would be amazing. However, it doesn't do this and instead has quite a few filler tracks which are quite weak and boring. The album does feel dull and lacklustre at times and it really needs more big hitters. The instrumentation is enjoyable and that is mainly due to the guitar work which is the real standout for me. Overall, a decent album that has its highs and lows and is enjoyable but shouldn't be in the conversation for one of the best albums ever.

Solid debut album. Starts with a hiss and a roar with the first three songs. Mostly pretty good throughout. Couple of fillers but overall top effort. 'Sex Type Thing' being best track

The greatest hard rock record ever, about anger, angst, and Scott's personal doubts and freedoms of things he allows himself to get out. The compositions are unique and fascinating, yet receptive and catchy.

Quintessential 90's rock album. The band was unfairly seen as an imitator of the Grunge sound. STP had their own unique sound which makes Core a grand achievement that has stood the test of time. RIP Scott. You were a genius and the embodiment of the iconic rock front man.

Great grunge/hard rock/alternative metal album. Best 10 songs average is 92,8/100 and the album can get great 95/100. Best song is "Plush" - maximum rating. Followed by "Creep" and "Crackerman" both 95/100 and next "Sex type thing", "Wicked garden", "Piece of pie" and "Where the river goes" all 90/100. All other songs good 80-85/100, except "Wet my bed" poor 60/100 only.
