My first solo Moz album I've listened to. It's never going to be the Smiths but it's still good. Irish Blood English Heart and First of the Gang to Die are superb tracks. And I love the typically gloomy Moz lyrics and subject matter. One of the opening lyrics "she told me she loved me, and that means she must be insane" is the most Moz thing ever (Edited)
The strongest crop of songs he's made since the Smiths ended, the singles Irish Blood, English Heart and First of the Gang to Die are two of my favourite indie rock songs of all time and there are also some great deep cuts on here too (Edited)
A great comeback year for Morrissey, in 2004 he had 4 top ten singles in the UK chart and released this excellent and highly successful album. My favourite track here is Come Back To Camden.
2004 had some great comebacks (most notably Sonic Youth and Prince) but this one is easily my favorite.
