Though not a studio album, I'm Beside You feels like one. Consisting of b-sides from their I'm With You sessions, this collection of songs shows that the band was inspired as ever, despite Frusciante's absence. Favourites include Never is a Long Time, Love of Your Life, The Sunset Sleeps, This is the Kitt, and Open/Close, which features a powerful children's choir outro.

Although this is an albums worth of material and you can understand why they almost did another double album, this material isn't as good. I am still really grateful that they released this as Long Progression, Victorian Machinery, Love of Your Life, and In Love Dying.
While I don't like Hometown Gypsy, it is kinda fun to hear the RHCPs do some country.
