My interest in "alt-country", originating somewhere around the year 2000, has led me to the tribes. This is not to say they're "alt-country" or americana, but their take on (roots?) rock music comes from that place, and then is embellished with a lot of pop sense (and production). These rock songs are really simple and catchy and sometimes that's just what i'm looking for. They flush out their ideas well with just a tint of bluesiness. The upbeat tracks work better for me than the ballads, but there's no going wrong with the tribes if this kind of music is your thing. My only complaint is it goes on a bit long..
