A better album than the opening track would lead one to believe, but not one of Herbie's best. A couple of tracks are a bit bland, though Herbie can always get a funky groove going, and there are other moments that take off. For the funky side of Herbie, I'd recommend Fat Albert Rotunda, Thrust, and of course Head Hunters before this one, but it's good.

One of Herbie's best and a massively underrated album. Listen to it and you'll wonder how every ounce of music here hasn't been sampled in hip hop at this point.
