Reck played bass in Teenage Jesus & The Jerks. He then came back to Japan, renamed his former band Friction, and put out this great post punk offering. This is cooler and for the most part less abrasive than The Jerks (more James Chance than Lydia Lunch), sounding more like a Japanese The Fall at times. The last track slows things down and brings in all the abrasiveness for a noise rock beauty. Great stuff.
