Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 51.4/100, a mean average of 49.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 49.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 28.4.

Creed get a bit of a hard deal. They're not at all bad and don't deserve the bitching that goes their way. However, they don't vary much in sound and style within any of their albums, but are steady and consistent. They're good at what they do; Commercial radio rock. Does tail off with the last couple of tracks though.

When it all comes down to it…Weathered is my go-to-Creed album and I vastly prefer it to their first two albums and the reason for that is that I feel that Scott Stapp was held back less with Weathered and was able to put much more of his own unique stamp onto the music with this album in comparison to Creed’s previous efforts.

It’s not only has more poppier tracks (My Sacrifice, One Last Breath, Hide, Don’t Stop Dancing) than their previous works, it has more heavier tracks on it (Bullets, Freedom Fighter, Signs) as well and it’s the first and only Creed album where we got a glimpse of the band’s more experimental side (Who’s Got My Back?). That and I just feel the melodies of Weathered aged far better than that of their older material and I strongly relate to the lyrical content of this album much more than their previous material.

This is the album that the record companies wanted Pearl Jam to make.

Creed released their best album with Weathered and it’s easily a huge improvement over Human Clay.

Songs like Bullets, Freedom Fighter, Who’s Got My Back?, the hit singles My Sacrifice and One Last Breath, Weathered and Hide are the album highlights and nothing on this album is as bad and atrocious as With Arms Wide Open (not even Signs).

"Bullets", "One Last Breath", "Weathered", maybe even "Who's Got My Back?" are highlights. Creed now has learned to write a few good songs. Unfortunately, the album is extremely inconsistent with travesties like "Signs", "You Stand Here With Me" and "Hide"
