Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 68.8/100, a mean average of 68.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 68.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 21.6.

Sexy and innovative, "Body Language" is Kylie's most underrated record. This is the one where her flair for experimentation (as evidenced by her mid to late 90s output) and more commercial sounding electropop / R&B come together in very surprising ways. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's like Autechre produced it or something. Very accomplished and still sounds fresh 15 years later !
I always thought Kylie should stick to sensual instead of down ‘n’ dirty, but she kinda proved me wrong with this album.
“You want love as a personal possesion, to shine light on your own perfection”... sheez, that’s some real shit.
"Body Language" is one of the more interesting statements in Kylie's illustrious career. The record shifts away from the mainstream club-disco, that her previous two albums consisted of, into more chilled out hip-hop/electronic territory, which isn't nearly as bad as it sounds.
From the great lead single and sultry opener "Slow" until the finish line, the album is sleek, sexy and both retro & futuristic. Some tracks recall classic soul/disco records, but are punctuated with innovative squelching beats. Kylie's vocals are also light, breathy and sexy as she beckons and commands, perfectly complimenting the production. Almost 15 years later, the album remains fresh and consistently catchy. One of her best.
this is not a very good album especially compared to Fever. However, even her average tunes are better than most pop garbage. Plus I love Australia... Aussie Aussie Aussie
Average dance-pop album. Best 10 songs average is 76,8/100 and the album can get average 75/100. I only like two songs: "Slow" (85/100) and "Red blooded woman" (80/100). Other songs are average or below. All in all bit monotonous and boring.
to be honest it was a let down after Light Years & Fever but after listening to it numerous times it really has grown on me and I must admit I love it now!
A huge let down after I listened to her Fever. Imo, Kylie found the right way for herself in Fever, and she had never topped it again.
