I don't mind this. The studio songs are a nice addition as well
A let down after the first live record and for one reason. Eddie Kramer speeded up the recordings so they could get one extra song on each of the 3 live sides. I know he claims it was to create the sense of "immediacy"...whatever that means. But it lost the dark powerful sound that propelled KISS Alive! and that was natural to KISS. This is why when you here this it doesn't sound quite right. To some people that won't matter. Some will even say it improves the sound...it is slight but it is there.
However side 4's new studio (or recorded in the arenas without an audience) recordings are among the best KISS songs ever made. Ahhh...To have had an entire album of that rip roaring production...Still it was probably the best packaged record in history. 1977 was a great year to be a KISS fan.
Did we really need "another" live Kiss record?
Not quite as good as the original but still a worthy follow up
