Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 5% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.1/100, a mean average of 75.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.7.

Does not sound much different from the sounds of 1991 ( Nevermind). A very accessible album. it has even some variety sonically and rhytmically.

Many of the songs on this has the residue of Kyuss seeping through. Not that that's a bad thing but it's not until the next album and beyond that QOTSA found the sound they made there own. Personal taste - I prefer QOTSA over Kyuss

They sound a bit too much like regular nu metal on this one. A genre that already oozes with mediocrity as it is.

A solid first effort that should not be overlooked. While it only has a few standout tracks (If Only, Avon), the album holds well as a whole. I enjoy this album most when I play it front to back, whereas I often struggle to pick a song from this album that I want to hear alone (aside from the aforementioned). No dull moments that I can immediately think of.

All round a solid album, but definitely not masterworks like some of their later releases.

Great album for driving on a sunny day in the middle of nowhere.

Great album. Not as big in production value as the later albums. But raw and direct.
No outstanding tracks here imo..
Points for track title: 'These Aren't the Droids You're Looking For' :)

This might be my favorite of theirs. The bass on this album is a forced to be reckoned with.

Walkin' On The Sidewalks is actually my favorite song... usually I don't like such repetition, but it works very well for that song.

Very solid album.

Robot rock. A great way to start their career. It has a lot of impressive riffs, and stands the passage of time very well.

Best: If Only, You Can't Quit Me Baby
Worst: Walking On The Sidewalks

Their most authentic effort - direct, hard, and great simplicity.
