Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. Reminiscent of New Order, very much so, yes, but with much shorter track lengths!
I blame benpaco for this, which in return, is a good thing, props to you, benpaco!
Sounds like Gary Numan's Tubeway Army material (which was fucking awesome) with maybe a mild dash of the popper side of Sisters of Mercy. I can see fans of The Faint's early albums really liking this.
