On Never Been Gone, Carly Simon re-recorded some of her best and best known songs. She gets points for reimagining them - performing them in new styles and with new inflections - but it seems an unnecessary effort. The songs were all excellent in their original form and they are not bettered here. Points, too, for the wonderfully whacky cover image. (Edited)
