Like all of Mike's albums, phenomenal. This one sort of occupies that middle ground in his transformation, containing some of the soft, emotionally charged and striped down sounds of his previous work, but also venturing into some of the more upbeat and/or triumphant style he comes to adopt more fully. As he said in an interview, it's about "leveling up" to him and this album really marks the start of that journey. Having cried so many tears already, he really starts to indulge in some more positivity. Thank goodness.
This is REAL, one of the most unique sounds last decade, this album is good at everything, but not great

Such a cool album. Love everything he does really so it's hard to choose a favorite Perfume Genius album. Has exciting songs and then some very dark ones. Pretty freaking magical if you ask me.

Whilst you may be initially drawn to the beautiful music you will be definitely rewarded with a deeper dive into the lyrics and their background
For example the track “GRID” is a commentary on AIDS / HIV in the 80’s when it was referred to as Gay Related Immune Deficiency and “My Body” discuses Mikes struggles with Chrones Disease and debilitating gastrointestinal condition

This album is a modern classic , and years after its release I'm still loving it
Like I suspect many other punters this was my first PG experience and I was immediately hooked . This album is so beautifully personal with soaring melodies and moving lyrics . I've since gone back to discover his back catalogue and there is much to enjoy there as well
A must listen for any music fan
This album is spotty for real tunes and mastered at an amateur level, but there's a reckless David Bowie-like swagger here that promises good things to come.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like Deerhunter's "Helicopter" was a huge influence for this record.
Maybe is an album very personal, and you hate it or you love it.
I hate it. I can say it haves a pretty sound and voice, but is bored. Monotonous.
I only feel in love, and a lot, from 'Queen'.
