Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 37.1/100, a mean average of 34.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 34.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 28.7.

An article I'd read in 'Classic Rock' magazine was to do with this and the making of this album. It piqued my interest as it was saying they'd gone with a darker sounding album. I'm not too sure what I was expecting but it doesn't sound far off what their other albums sounds like. There's a couple of tracks with pacey grunt to them but mostly it's that anthemic arena style that they're renowned for. This one would fit into a similar category as commercial sounding Def Leppard.
This album was definitely the peak of Nickelback’s commercial popularity as it was on the US Billboard 200 albums chart for a total of 166 weeks which is much longer than any of the band’s other Mult-Platinum albums (besides All The Right Reasons which was on the US Billboard 200 albums chart for a longer period of time).

Got some great songs.
This is a horrible album, but I wonder why people complain about misogyny in Nickelback's lyrics. Many hip hop albums are far worse in that category. Let's forget the lyrics and just talk about "Gotta Be Somebody", which is so bad that I must perform maneuvers to try to forget that it actually exists.

Chad Kroeger sounds like the most constipated human on Earth.
There are songs called Something In Your Mouth and S.E.X. on this album.
Just.. why.
