n = number of ratings an item has currently received.
m = minimum number of ratings required for an item to appear in a 'top-rated' chart (currently 10).
AV = the site mean average rating.

Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 49.3/100, a mean average of 44.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 44.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 25.2.

When it comes to music I pretty much have an open mind but holy sweet mother of god this album stinks , I couldn’t even get through the entire thing before I had to switch off the poison entering my ears

I’m not the biggest Q Magazine fan but if they say this is the number 1 worst ever album it’s hard to disagree

DD’s version of “911 is a joke “ is the worst song on the worst album

Woof !

Giving it 20/100 for “Perfect Day” which is actually ok

I dont agree with these harsh reviews. White Lines is great and has Mellie Mel on it. Perfect Day is one of the best covers of a Lou Reed song. I'd also recommend Watching the Detectives, Lay Lady Lay, Success, Crystal Ship, Ball of Confusion and Thank You so pretty much the whole album.

I am a life long DD fan but I'm sorry this album is appalling

Their is not an improved or even good version of any of the covers on this album

And DD to this day still drag out the awful White Lines at their live shows - I had to endure it again twice last year

Gruesome

Being very generous. Duran Duran doing White Lines is something I wish I could erase from my hearing memory which, so far, no amount of scotch can erase. If you think that's bad, they also do Bob Dylan. Scotch please.

It has no "brilliance". Yeah they may be saying thank you to all their influences, but that just feels like a gimmick. I feel lied to and cheated on while listening to this album. It's not like it's a Metal Machine Music. It just sounds like a brilliant band desperate for money so they turned to these songs as a last resort. That's why I feel so insulted.

This can't be the worst album ever. With brilliant takes on songs like 'Success' and 'Perfect Day' its at least got something going for it. I have heard albums that are actually painful to listen to and some have made there way into the top 200! And the whole idea of this album, to say Thank You to those artists... well now that definitely earns my respect : )

I saw that this was listed as number 1 by Q Magazine of the 100 worst albums of all time. Under very strange curiosity I bought it used. I regret it to this day. It's terrible. This band successfully kills every single one of the songs on the album/ I was expecting being able to laugh at it. and I just couldn't. It's boring as piss and ear rape at it's wost moments (seriously. whoever gave them the rights to 911 Is A Joke needs to be shot).
