James Murphy has been in a perpetual state of midlife crisis for 15 years
Every album is worth it's weight in gold. Besides that, they're the best band live ever and JM is probably the lyricist of all time. This band is the essence of post modernist music: it's contradictory, it's full of raw feelings and it's just fun. It doesn't have to make sense, it can all be just a handful of colors in a memory of a young you dancing with a girl that you never saw again. This band is that. It's music for a memory of a random party that you remember more and more sadly as your life goes on.
LCD stands for Large Cuddly Duck, but I don't know why

I love this! It's dance music, but it's actually really good. If this music was played at all dances and clubs and stuff instead of just dance versions of the billboard top 20, then they would be fifteen times better. It's the perfect mix of great lyrics, catchy beats, and talented composition. I really hope Murphy comes out of retirement. Cause we need more of this.

For a dance outfit they have some incredible lyrics. Stuff that resonates with me in a very rare way
All My Friends is my favorite song of all time.
