Guilty pleasure. I put "Hotel California" up there with any other seventies guitar rock classics including "Stairway To Heaven" and "Smoke on the Water". However; I do prefer their sweet country sound, to me that is their forte.

A great country rock band from the 70's. Hotel California is a good album but Desperado is a superior album and is their best. Henley/Frey are good songwriters who deserve a bit of credit. (Edited)
This is in my opinion one of the greatest bands in the history. Their music influence me and get my thoughts going.
They feel like a singles band to me. There is a reason their greatest hits album is one of the highest selling of all times. Fantastic singles but not a whole lot of reason to delve into the albums other than Hotel California.

Some magnificent songs. Beautiful harmonies superbly produced and arranged. When I was younger I found them a bit bland. However, as I grow older I appreciate them more and more.
