Eagles ratings
Average Rating = (n ÷ (n + m)) × av + (m ÷ (n + m)) × AVwhere:
av = trimmed mean average rating an item has currently received.
n = number of ratings an item has currently received.
m = minimum number of ratings required for an item to appear in a 'top-rated' chart (currently 10).
AV = the site mean average rating.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 76.1/100, a mean average of 73.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.2/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 19.9.

Nos han dejado pocos discos, pero la mayoría son fantásticos. Y mi favorito no es el magnífico Hotel California, sino el extraordinario One of These Nights. Prefiero su primera etapa, más cercana al country, que la más comercial y AOR que vino después.
Definitely underrated on this site. Hotel California is one of the all-time great albums, and the rest of their '70s output it pretty darn good too. Check out On the Border for a true hidden gem of a record.
These guys get a lot of (well deserved) criticism. I personally think they're just okay
Some magnificent songs. Beautiful harmonies superbly produced and arranged. When I was younger I found them a bit bland. However, as I grow older I appreciate them more and more.
I love Hotel California and every one of their albums has at least a few tracks listening to.
Dark country rock! they're irresistible
A great country rock band from the 70's. Hotel California is a good album but Desperado is a superior album and is their best. Henley/Frey are good songwriters who deserve a bit of credit.
Hotel California you have to listen to but also One Of These Nights which I think is my favourite album. Only ever saw them live once. It was like watching a video or listening to an album. They didn't stray from an exact rendition of a single tune once. Not my idea of a gig. I want somethig different if I'm making the effort to travel to see a band.
70s superstars, morphing from genuine, earthy country-rock to brilliant if slightly manufactured soft-rock. It's tough to argue with the melodies and stories they crafted on album. Hotel California deserves the acclaim.
90s sell-outs. Expensive concerts, pointless albums, and all around prickishness. They should have stayed broken up and preserved their legacy.
