"Fantastic partnership in re-imagining the work of Woody Guthrie. Wilco offsets the folksy dead-pan approach of Billy Bragg well in alternating tracks. Sometimes it comes close to hitting the mark, and others they hit a home run. Highlights - California Stars, Ingrid Bergman, Christ for President,..."  [+]  Reply

"This is the perfect album from start to finish and the connection of the first and last song is very clever and brilliant musically. Every song is great but My Happiness is their gem along with Like A Dog, My Kind Of Scene and These Days. The album was voted best Australian album of all time on t..."  [+]  Reply

"Billed as his possible last album, PPD is a renaissance of sorts for the man, with the album revisiting one of his classic lp's - The Idiot. Whilst not as good, it is nice to hear him successfully come back with some of his best material in years."  Reply

"Very good hard rock/progressive metal album. Best 10 songs average is 91,2/100, the album gets 90/100. It's continuously strong without any lows. Far and away best song is "Silent lucidity" I'm rating at a max. Followed by "Best I can", "The thin line", "Another rainy night (without you)", "Empir..."  [+]  Reply

"This guy knows how to put an indie folk rock song together with many witty twists of phrase. Opener "fiery crash", one of the highlights on the album, is aptly apocryphal, stating "G force is twisting the faith with superstition / A fatal premonition / You know you've got to envision / The fiery ..."  [+]  Reply

"A good follow up to, Diamond life. Promise, is a much more jazzy affair than it's predecessor with the use of brass much more prominent. Nice performances on this perfect late night, lights down album. Very good."  Reply
