Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Definitely one of the more unusual charts I've seen ~ and I expect you have a soundtrack to your life that makes your choices what they are. I respect the honesty of your selections.

We have a lot in common. 32 albums and our shared love of Muse and Radiohead. But there's a crapload of albums on here that I would completely disagree with. Maye if you added some comments I would take those in, appreciate your choices, and give you a higher rating.

Mayday Parade at #1 is rare yet admirable, I love the self titled quite a bit and am happy to see someone else likes it as much as I do.

Honestly, I was hoping to see Red by Taylor Swift but Fearless is decent. If you like Muse, Radiohead and Coldplay, I would highly recommend Placebo because those are the best 4 British bands IMO.
