Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)

This artist is rated in the top 1% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a mean average rating of 84.0/100. The trimmed mean (excluding outliers) is 85.5/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 13.6.

At his best, a marvelous composer capable of creative creative and powerful delivery. At his worst, an overly nasal purveyor of saccharine slop.

His classic period (from "Music on my mind" to "Songs in the key of life") is a must listen for any music lover.

Stevie is one of the world's most talented, inspiring, important, and influential artists ever. Stevie's string of albums in the late 60's through the 70's is the definition of amazing. Songs In the Key of Life and Innervisions are both masterpieces that really had a cultural impact on America and the world. He can also play any instrument and has on many of his songs. He was my first favorite musician and I must thank him for his amazing career.

Stevie Wonder is a musical genius his albums from " Where I'm Coming From" to "In Square Circle"(1971 -85) are amazing. A special mention goes to Songs in the Key of Life which sounds better today and is just as relevant politically and socially. He also made some cracking pop songs in the 60's.

Stevie Wonder has produced an incredible amount of funky, creative, soulful music. He dominated the 70s (I think Paul Simon, after winning a Grammy, thanked Stevie Wonder for not putting an album out that year.) Sadly, Stevie Wonder has also put out a load of easy-listening dreck. I prefer to remember Sir Duke over I Just Called to Say I Love You.
