Still one of the most personally revealing albums ever released, Kyle Nicolaides is able to reach into your dreams and shatter them like no one else, all the while reconstructing a way to move forward nevertheless.

A work of art, plain and simple. The musical embellishments, inspired by free jazz and slam poetry, are genius, and the lyrics are spot on. I'm still trying to sort out what this record means and what it captures- something very deep, powerful, and quite scary. I would almost call it the hip-hop complement to "OK Computer."

Kanye's sprawling epic of fame, glamour, and disillussionment. Deserves the unique honor of conquering the sounds of the clubs/college campuses whilst simulataneously being pretty much the saddest music ever recorded. In other words, the ultimate recession album.

As innovative and varied as a record form the late-60s, but lyrically evoking the Pet Sounds-based themes of its contemporaries, Deerhunter have left a rich legacy still waiting to be explored and expanded.

Dave Grohl carries the torch of good old rock and roll in an age dominated by Logic studio DJs. Raging and sprawling, nobody has made a mid-life crisis sound more appealing.

There is no reason I should like this so much, and perhaps it'll go down in the rankings after a while. But God is it good to hear guilty pleasure Cali pop get the treatment it deserves- taken up by great musicians.
