Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. A little heavy on the 70s and some classic artists like the Beatles and Bowie. Solid albums though and a bunch in common. Like others I think it wouldn't hurt to listen to some more recent stuff but if you love the classics best, nothing wrong with that.

Love many of these albums and it's pretty cool how much you like Zappa. Definitely a good amount of Zappa on my 60s and 70s charts. It's hard to add him to my overall top 100 because I listen to music from many genres and different years. Chungas Revenge is probably my favorite.

Thanks for all the Kip Hanrahan Albums.#I have no idea why noone on BEA seems to know him.
I listened to his music because a friend is a big fan and often played his albums - so I don´t own his albums myself and I´m not sure if I picked the best one in my chart.

Good start.
Some interesting albums: Kip Hanrahan, Crimsons Starless and Bbible Black, Lou Reed Berlin + New York...
Maybe too many Beatles albums...
