More a manifesto than an album, this is by far the greatest hip hop album ever made, and I can't see anyone topping it anytime soon.

Is Ambient Rock a universally recognised genre? If not, it ought to be, because this is a very fine example thereof. One of the most recknowned American underground bands with arguably their best album.

A regular spin during my teenage years (and metal is the one genre to prove that vinyl really does sound better). At full blast, obviously. I'm sure the neighbours loved me.

Late 80s UK soul-pop at its best, an album that was played up and down on my stereo back then while its videos were (justifiably) played up and down on MTV. A shame they decided to call it a day shortly afterwards.

Somewhat immature in parts (there's, erm, the title to begin with), but the starting gun for what came to be known as Madchester, and for that I salute it.
