Most people don't realise it, but this is Kraftwerk's last genuine album, since the original line-up disbanded shourtly after this album and the particular troupe called Kraftwerk that still tours occasionally is basically just Hütter and a bunch of stand-ins. In any case, Electric Cafe sounded revolutionary in the mid-80s. The music video to Musique Non-Stop was, alongside Money for Nothing, a pioneering efford in 3D animation and also an indication of how innovative music videos could be (and, indeed, were). Kraftwerk's last hurrah.
