Il disco che ti modella a sua immagine quando hai l'età giusta per farti modellare, l'album che contiene quelle quattro/cinque canzoni che ti verrebbe da pensare che non te ne servano altre per tutta la vita, un pezzo di musica che è come se fosse un pezzo del tuo corpo.

Gli Stones qui sono una macchina da rock perfettamente oliata, non più nello zenit della loro creatività ma sciolti, potenti, aggressivi, dinamici. La sequenza delle quattro canzoni finali del lato 4 dell'lp, in queste versioni che per me sono le migliori in assoluto, è ciò che rende questo album il mio live preferito.

I Rolling Stones qui lasciano la forma per concentrarsi sulla sostanza e sono in una posizione unica per poterlo fare: una band già rodatissima, famosissima, ricca, potente, imitata ma ancora altamente creativa, ispirata. Possono suonare quindi con la scioltezza di una band esperta ed allo stesso tempo con la freschezza di un gruppo giovane e da questo perfetto ed irripetibile ( ed infatti irripetuto ) equilibrio nasce "Exile…", un misto di rock, blues e country con tanto soul ad irrobustirne le trame. Sporco e lascivo come l'uomo di cui è principalmente emanazione ( Keith Richards ), "Exile…" incarna meglio di ogni altro disco lo spirito del rock'n'roll. DEFINITIVO.

Per me, il top della discografia di David Bowie. Non c'è trilogia berlinese che tenga, non c'è nessuna svolta funky o new wave o, men che meno, dance che possa stare alla pari con la purezza e con la spontaneità di questo album.

Esteticamente "Let it bleed" è il miglior disco dei Rolling Stones, inanellando un capolavoro via l'altro; ed i Rolling Stones del 1969 sono l'equivalente del Dylan del '65 o dei Beatles del '67, ossia il top.

Le ragioni per cui i Led Zeppelin sono tra i miei gruppi preferiti di sempre sono tante e mi limito alle seguenti: la tecnica artigianale ma devastante di Jimmy Page oltre che la sua comunicatività e la sua versatilità con la chitarra, la voce ai tempi in grado di rompere i bicchieri ( vero ! ) di Robert Plant, il drumming personale, potente e preciso di John Bonham, l'eclettismo di John Paul Jones…

A farmi piacere il White Album più degli altri dischi dei Beatles è il fatto che in esso ci sono non solo la genialità, il talento, ma anche gli scazzi, quelli che avrebbero portato alla fine del gruppo ma che allora costituivano ancora un elemento creativo. E se c'è un disco dei Beatles dove è maggiormente possibile leggere tra le righe delle loro composizioni, questo è il White Album. Chiedere a Charles Manson… ONNIVORO.

Overall I get it. I’d like to see a bit more diversity, but I share your taste for many of these albums and artists. Some I am yet to explore. So thanks for some ideas.
