Gli Stones qui sono una macchina da rock perfettamente oliata, non più nello zenit della loro creatività ma sciolti, potenti, aggressivi, dinamici. La sequenza delle quattro canzoni finali del lato 4 dell'lp, in queste versioni che per me sono le migliori in assoluto, è ciò che rende questo album il mio live preferito. I Rolling Stones qui lasciano la forma per concentrarsi sulla sostanza e sono in una posizione unica per poterlo fare: una band già rodatissima, famosissima, ricca, potente, imitata ma ancora altamente creativa, ispirata. Possono suonare quindi con la scioltezza di una band esperta ed allo stesso tempo con la freschezza di un gruppo giovane e da questo perfetto ed irripetibile ( ed infatti irripetuto ) equilibrio nasce "Exile…", un misto di rock, blues e country con tanto soul ad irrobustirne le trame. Sporco e lascivo come l'uomo di cui è principalmente emanazione ( Keith Richards ), "Exile…" incarna meglio di ogni altro disco lo spirito del rock'n'roll. DEFINITIVO. Tralascio di dire della copertina di "Who's next", una tra le più iconiche della storia della musica rock; tralascio anche di parlare della scaletta, composta esclusivamente da grandi canzoni manco si fosse di fronte ad un greatest hits eppure da una media stellare riescono a spiccare ed andare verso l'infinito ed oltre almeno due brani, il primo e l'ultimo; tralascio pure di dire proprio di queste canzoni, dell'urlo di Daltrey non meno famoso in musica di quanto lo sia quello di Munch nella pittura, o della commistione mai così riuscita ( a nessuno ) tra le tastiere così lontane dal rock ortodosso e quello stesso rock granitico, devastante, potente, lirico; tralascio infine di sottolineare fino a quale punto di bravura erano arrivati i singoli componenti del gruppo. Tralascio tutto, perché non ci sono parole. MONUMENTO. [First added to this chart: 02/11/2018]

Overall I get it. I’d like to see a bit more diversity, but I share your taste for many of these albums and artists. Some I am yet to explore. So thanks for some ideas.
