I love large bands with a full sound like The Polyphonic Spree, Arcade Fire and Sufjan Stevens, so Broken Social Scene is right up my alley. During the last decade (2010s), I’ve listened to You Forgot It In People more than any of my other top-10 favorite albums. I keep bracing for hints of aging, but no cracks have appeared. Well, maybe ‘Anthems For A Seventeen Year-Old Girl’ is starting to get a little tired, but just barely. And there are other songs like ‘Stars and Sons’, ‘Looks Just Like The Sun’, and ‘Pacific Theme’ that have only gotten better with time.
‘Pacific Theme’ and ‘Shampoo Suicide’ are the most underrated tracks. [First added to this chart: 03/12/2019]

The Beginning Stages of……Awesomeness!
The Polyphonic Spree are one of the most underrated bands of the last 20-years. My favorite tracks off their debut album have shifted over the years. Upon last go-around, ‘Have a Day/Celebratory’, ‘Days Like This Keep Me Warm’, ‘Hanging Around the Day, Pt. 2’, and ‘Light & Day/Reach For The Sun’ were the standouts. I’m not a fan of the 36-minute final track, ‘A Long Day’, even after several honest attempts. You will need a lot of patience to get through it…or just skip it like I usually do. Round Room marked Phish's return from a 2-year hiatus after conquering the US in the 90s with their live shows, including holding the largest Millennium concert in the world deep in the Florida Everglades, playing from dusk til’ dawn. This has grown to become my favorite Phish studio album, which as a Phish fan is an unusual opinion. Most fans prefer Junta, Billy Breathes, Rift, and other albums before Round Room.
This is Phish's rawest studio album, with the least amount of rehearsal, and the fewest number of takes. It was out of character for a band usually so polished. In taking this approach they seemed to have captured their process of discovering the potential of new material before having a chance to play it live. New York City is Phish's second home after Vermont, and the post 9/11 New York melancholy comes through on the album, right in the mix with Phish's melodic jams and abstract whimsy. My favorite tracks are 'Pebbles & Marbles', ‘Anything But Me’, 'Seven Below', 'All of These Dreams', 'Walls of the Cave', and 'Waves'. [First added to this chart: 03/12/2019]
