Breeders - Pod has a spartan beauty about it which actually exceeds some Pixies material over repeat listens. She has a tuneful but slighly cold character to her voice which gives the trademark sound. Also she hung around with many of the greats of 80s & 90s indie.

Pod & Last Splash are terrific. Along with The Pixies, Kim Deal is clearly one of the greatest of all time. Mad respect and love for anything she touches.

It's a shame Kim Deal's band doesn't get as much attention as the Pixies. Pod, Safari Ep, Mountain Battles (and that Amps albums, which is technically a breeders album anyway) are all very strong.
