In 1980 I was still in secondary school. I was the prick who thought anything I didn't listen to was just uncool. I was an avid reader of the NME and treated it almost as a bible. I bought so much crap because of their propaganda. Not all of their advice was bad, though. This chart contains many bands I discovered in the pages of NME.

I can remember sitting down at my desk in Geography one day to see Young Marble Giants written on the desk. I added the title of this LP. A week later the list had the Testcard EP added to it. I have no idea who wrote this. Niether of us left our names.

I can remember all of my school mates getting excited about seeing the video to Once in a Lifetime on Top of the Pops. We were all trying to do his moves in the school yard at break time.

I bought this album because the sleeve was embossed and silvery. I had heard a track on Peel and decided to give it a try as the album looked so good. A great decision was made that day.
