One of my all time favourite albums, reminds me of eighties summers, uplifting metal imo. Best track for me is Running with the Devil. The vinyl copy which I still have is in mint condition and sounds superb on good audio kit. I used to wonder what the little sound was In the intro of Running with the Devil after the six bass notes, thought perhaps it was a synth, it is simply a pick run across the strings between the stock and machine heads on the guitar, simple but effective. The first LP I ever bought. I recently replaced the vinyl as it was well worn. This is an instrumental album which rocks, much more than the Peirilous Journey album if you happen to know that one. Great cover and great music within. Some of the best drumming I have heard from the incredibly talented Simon Phillips is housed within this album. [First added to this chart: 02/12/2022]

Excellent BOC early years sampler. The title perhaps suggests it was one live venue, in fact it isn't a true live album, each track is from a different venue, although it has been put together cleverly so when listening you hardly realise. Worth owning for Godzilla and Reaper. [First added to this chart: 05/09/2023]

Excellent progressive rock album, a natural follow on to A Farewell to Kings although for me AFTK's is the stronger album.
La Villa Strangiato is the standout track.

Excellent Steve Hillage album, a real mix of chill out meditations and new age rock. Some superb guitar work, particularly on 'Unidentified'. Quite futuristic in parts with vocoder and swirling atmospheric strings forming a backdrop to glissando guitar passages. In parts the albums borders on psychedelic soundscapes. There is very little between this one and 'Rising' Both albums are 'Rainbow' at their peak and most creative. With Dio on vocals and Cozy Powell in the drum stool it couldn't fail to be anything but brilliant. 'Gates of Babylon' and 'Rainbow Eyes' are personal favourites. This debut album introduced a palate of musical styles including Jazz, Fusion, Funk, R&B and pop/rock. The musicianship is a pleasure to listen to throughout with some stunning keyboard soloing on what is either a Mini Moog or Arp. Music like this never sounds dated to me although others may disagree. An album I reach for when the sun is shining and the sun cream is back in use for those few weeks in the year. One of my 'Sounds of Summer' albums. [First added to this chart: 08/09/2020]

I know that this album was always considered by many to be Black Sabbath on the downward slope but personally I don't hear that. I like the slightly less heavy more melodic arrangements and the permanent keyboard addition with some great piano work from Don Airey on 'Air Dance' and I love it when it almost breaks into jazz. I can understand how hardcore Sabbath fans struggled with this but for me it is a definite like. A saxophone even puts In an appearance! [First added to this chart: 04/26/2021]

Excellent live album. Better than any compilation as the tracks on here are all classic AC/DC. Don't like the cover image but the message is clear, 'if you want blood, you've got it'.
