"Even if the classic song ratio is slightly lower than on the eponymous debut of 1978, "Van Halen II" (1979) is just as much fun - if not more - and to the band's credit, there's not a bad song on the album. The garage rock of "Van Halen" (1978) showcased surprising diversity - from a cappella, ba..."  [+]  Reply

"These guys seem to have such a playful attitude towards making music that words fail me in trying to grasp the essence of it. Just their choice of instruments oozes good-will and playfulness: basitars and guitbasses. :) Playfulness in general - and in music creation particularly - is so incredibl..."  [+]  Reply

"Hey, so I have not listened to the album yet. And I am sure it would be worth my time. But I have to ask two questions (1) Are all these songs really BEA 90+ quality or has a little magic happened here? (2) Is this album anything like Benji by Sun Kil Moon?"  Reply

"Outside of Flowers In The Window and Sing it a nice and gentle affair. However the two previously mentioned are the only songs I found to be great on here. You would like this a lot if you liked Coldplay and Snow Patrol though."  Reply

"Peter Hammill is another unrecognised English musical genius. Perhaps the first to recognise that the voice is another instrument to experiment with. Still Life just resonates with pain, wonder, melancholy and hope. No weak songs, but the title track and Childhood's end are masterpieces."  Reply

"What a really cool change of pace for these guys. Yeah, its genre tags are "thrash metal" and "stoner metal," but I would say the intensity of it matches the more chaotic moments from Nonagon of Infinity with some aggressive vocals and crazy good guitar work. It's a very fun listen."  Reply

"Saw them live at Massey Hall in 1974 and it was scary great. This album is a pale imitation of the real thing but it's all we have. Imagine what Hawkwind could have done if they had Radiohead's 21st century technology! :D"  Reply

"One of the things that makes this Swedish Americana album such a special project is the honesty that sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg bring to their status as musical and geographical outsiders. "Very good hard rock/progressive metal album. Best 10 songs average is 91,2/100, the album gets 90/100. It's continuously strong without any lows. Far and away best song is "Silent lucidity" I'm rating at a max. Followed by "Best I can", "The thin line", "Another rainy night (without you)", "Empir..."  [+]  Reply
