The first time I listened to this album it went straight into my top 10 for the year, after a while I moved it into the top 5. Now that I know it better I love it even more and is now my favourite album of the year.
You know those moments in a song that make you go "oh yeeaaahh!!!" but you know when you highlight them to someone else they will just go "shrug...oh yeah...meh"? This album is full of those for me. And those last three songs on the album just raise the level even more for a fantastic finish.

Anyone that knows, or has worked out, that I love psychedelic music of all sorts, and especially King Gizz could see why this has gone straight to the top of my yearly chart. They may swim in the same pool as King Gizz, Tame Impala, and Pond, but they are swimming in the deep end. I reckon they have had many many stoned jams where they have absolutely loved creating music inspired by the greats of psychedelic rock and pop both old and new. And I think this love shows throughout the record. They seem to have a sense of knowing what they are doing, which is surprising for a debut album from a young band, coming with a sense of humour, with song titles like Intro, Fuzz Jam, and Cheesy Love Song which actually are an intro, a fuzz jam, and a chessy love song respectively. Fuzz Jam was my favourite song of 2021 by the way. Anyway love the vocals but even the instrumental tracks are great. There is not a weak tune on here - high quality all the way through. Looking forward to the future of this band.

I've really been getting into live albums over the last few years and this is one of the best I've heard so far. It probably helps that this is from a tour that I did see them live, in a smallish venue of a size that I can't see them playing a gig at that small again). Fantastic set list mainly featuring some of my favourites from Nonagon Infinity, and Mind Fuzz, but the classics The River and Head On/The Pill are the highlights here. I love the Audible "Fuck Yeah" from someone in the crowd at the opening notes of The River, perfectly encapsulating what my thought would be at the opening notes of The River live. The only blemish here is Trapdoor, but I have never felt much for that song anway. Always thought it was a bit of a weak single and more a throaway album filler type of track.

Love that Bloodmoon snuck into your top 20, such a great record. As always, the love for King Gizzard and Australian psych in general is much appreciated. Funny how your top 2 albums are some of my least favourites from the respective bands (both still slap, though).
