Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 34.6/100, a mean average of 25.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 24.7/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 26.4.

This albums + "classics" (Radiohead, Trout Mask Replica, Arcade Fire, Joy Division, Pixies, Sonic Youth, Airplane over the sea and 13th Floor Elevators) = 9/10 as average rating
Some great albums (Kanye, 50, Sublime), but man, you are so negatively attitive. That's the reason why this is the lowest ranked chart on BEA, even after 8 years...
Why is this chart rated so low? Most of these albums are fairly acclaimed/well-received.
I wish someone would explain trolling to me, so that I can differentiate it from making a deliberately provocative chart with the aim of eliciting an outraged response.
I actually like Sublime. A bit. But the opening notes, as well as the username, make this chart truly special. I think what I appreciate most about it is that is seems one hundred percent sincere.
A few okay albums (Sublime, Bob Marley), but oh man that description reeks of trolling.
To be honest, other than Sublime and Britney, do not hate this chart. Some great hip hop here.

Bro, can you teach me to have a music taste as sick as yours?
Uhh... I guess music is subjective...
