Simply the best. pure emotion, pure anger. pure genius. Eminem takes on the whole world... and actually wins.

What the 'rappers' these days wish they sounded like. except these fools had talent. the bizzy, krayzie, and layzie are severly under rated mc's in my opinion. the most under rated album of all time, in any genre ever.

Probably the best rhymes on any album, Nas lights up the mic for 40 mins, and every second is classic. this album alone has kept him in 'greatest mc' conversations since the day it was released in '94

Listening to gangsta rap has never been as fun, scary, or intimidating since the release of this album. all nine members are in their top form while Method Man and the GZA absolutely kill it

A portrait of who the real Eminem was. a brilliant depressed, introverted, angry and self abusive genius. 'Rock Bottom' is one of the saddest and realest songs of all time.

Del Tha Funkee Homosapien strikes gold with this one. if the members of Pink Floyd were born in Compton, this is the album they would have created. it really honest to god sounds like its from the year 3030.

The album that made rap truely a pop culture phenomenon (for better or for worse). one of those rare albums that is so good, you have to love it even if you don't like the genre.

Top 48 Greatest Music Albums ratings
Average Rating = (n ÷ (n + m)) × av + (m ÷ (n + m)) × AVwhere:

n = number of ratings an item has currently received.
m = minimum number of ratings required for an item to appear in a 'top-rated' chart (currently 10).
AV = the site mean average rating.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 84.1/100, a mean average of 82.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 82.7/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 13.5.

This chart NEEDS Lamar's good kid, M.A.A.D. City. Apart from that, it's pretty good. I really like most of your choices, and I have to agree with you number one pick.
