Radiohead elevate themselves from great to incredible with a run of 7 of the best songs of all time, 3 just really great songs and 1 hauntingly poignant robotically spoken interlude track. Thom Yorke delivers fantastic vocals over masterfully crafted instrumentals with near-perfect mixing, pacing, tracklisting and themes about our lives that will remain relevant for many years to come, just as they have for the 25 years since this album's release.

Comments:
Radiohead pick up their masterful touch after the decent Hail To The Thief with a collection of 10 beautiful tracks expressing a range of emotions from confusion and intensity in Bodysnatchers to leaving behind a message after death in Videotape. The more loose and relaxed form of rock approached by Radiohead in this album allows for stunning soundscapes created with more of a focus on guitar than electronic elements.

3. (4) Up 1
After OK Computer, Radiohead attempt to tackle the exploration of the more digital and soundscape-focused sound that has only been hinted at in past works, and they absolutely succeed. The haunting and dystopian tracklist create feelings of unrivalled tension and existential drama with a range of sounds, some working better than others. This album released in 2000 but still feels futuristic and there's nothing else quite like it.

Comments:
The Strokes' debut album immediately perfects a garage rock sound with raw and gritty guitar-work, great drums and bass, and the iconic vocals of Julian Casablancas. At first I found the sound explored by Is This It to be repetitive as the album went on, but it has only grown on me as the subtle stylistic differences between tracks offer something new with every listen.

Comments:
In 2020, it is amazing to me that The Strokes could create an album rivalling their debut that sounds absolutely and entirely different to said debut. Casablancas' voice has aged delightfully and he expresses his range across the album with high notes, low notes, and all kinds of vocal styles across 9 tracks. The warm sound of the album makes it nostalgic and it is created by some of the best technical quality, through Rick Rubin's mixing, that I have ever heard.

With Radiohead's most recent album, they explore a more spacious and melancholic sound. While this leads to some tracks being potentially less memorable, this makes A Moon Shaped Pool a deeply emotional listen from start to finish, with references to Thom Yorke's personal life alongside global topics like climate change. Radiohead as a group prove that they have remained musical geniuses over several decades of music production , and I sincerely hope that this is not the last we see of them.
