Yay, I finally get to have an impact on the 2024 rankings! I have listened to 130 2024 albums this year (I know, par for the course for the vets here). This is first impressions at this point. I will re-listen to several of them between now and February or so, and I'm sure some of my ratings and rankings will change. And who knows, maybe a couple more good ones will come out between now and New Years Eve.

They pattern their musical lives off of classic Slowdive with a good, full-time female singer. I'm in.

Lots of Opeth fans are whinging that this is a disappointment. I think it's quite good.

Really enjoyed the songwriting prowess and depth of arrangement and production. I bet this one actually rises in rating and ranking when I listen to it again.

The fact that the ranking and rating of this album isn't much higher is a testament to folks not appreciating the Amy Winehouse vintage aesthetic. This is a very nice album.
