One nice thing about doing these year charts is that I've discovered that a number of my albums have wrong information (mainly wrong year), which has made for some confusion when creating these charts. This year in particular saw many changes from what I thought were my favourite albums of 2002 (or of other years that turned out to be from 2002). Adding to the complications, some (mainly unknown) artists seem to have released albums independently, only to have them released again by a label, often with some changes made, which makes me unsure of which year to put them under, and also which version I have in my collection.

In my teens and early 20s, my brother would often buy me a CD for Xmas. We don't really share many musical tastes, so the poor guy was often guessing what I might like. This CD was one of those gifts. For a while, it was my favourite OLP album, but then I started to like HINAFTYCC better. Innocent; Made of Steel. [First added to this chart: 02/07/2013]

I'm really not sure how I came to discover Martina, but B&C2 is such a great song. The rest of the album is kind of mellow folksy. Fun fact: she and her husband later formed Dragonette, and more dance-electronic based band that seems totally different from her early work, but no less enjoyable. Bonnie and Clyde II. Another mystery find, I think I borrowed this from someone after hearing the song Mama. I had a coworker who told me about a YFIIP party she was going to, where they would just chill and dance to only this album all night long. I wasn't sure if this was an incredibly cool or incredibly lame (or incredibly hipster) idea. Anyway, I don't think you can have indie cred in Canada without liking BSS.
