"A much more polished effort than their first release. With this record, The Fugs push music forward into a space that few if any could have seen coming. The first nine songs sound like fully flushed-out music with decent vocals, good instrumentation (particularly the electric guitars) and great s..."  [+]  Reply

"The final and best Capitol hodgepodge album. It contains some great tracks, but suffers from inferior sound quality. Fun fact: if you turn the album on its side, Paul is in a coffin."  Reply

"In April 1966 The Troggs suddenly "From Nowhere" appeared on the beat-scene. "Wild Thing" written by Chip Taylor was an instant world-wide hit. Actually the single was really their second; their first "Lost Girl" which is also included here, was a minor hit in Holland, but failed to chart in Engl..."  [+]  Reply

"How could someone ever give a Lee Hazlewood album a 5? All of his output (solo, with Nancy Sinatra, Duane Eddy, etc) are gold. He was a master songwriter, producer, and arranger. And I hardly even like most country music. This guy is the real deal."  Reply

""For Certain Because" marked the beginning of probably the most creative period in the career of the Hollies. It was also the album that introduced Tonys Hicks' banjo which is very prominent on the big single hit "Stop Stop Stop". Their songwriting had been steadily growing since their ealiest ef..."  [+]  Reply

"This 1966 album features a much more varied type of songs than the previous albums, making it a much more uneven affair. Including several standards of that time like "Unchained Melody" and "Lover's Concerto" and exposing them for rather heavy orchestration. Though "Lover's Concerto" is quite enj..."  [+]  Reply
