Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 78.8/100, a mean average of 73.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.4/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 20.0.

Maiden are still better than Metallica ;)
Man I love your chart, but nearly half comes from the same four artists. Would that ratio continue if you extended to 100?
It may be typical, but most of these are undeniably the greatest albums of all time, and we definitely have the same taste.
Not a bad album on here.
I haven't posted anything for awhile...but in my "brief" absence, I finally realized there WAS an album better than OK Computer...go figure. But lets see how long I feel this way...
long live Radiohead.. lol

Pretty good chart.
The white man is good at making music. Don't be hatin', zoibac.
You guys should have a beer together at the White House.
