Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 85.1/100, a mean average of 82.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 84.8/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 15.4.

Cool stuff! Love to see Flaming Lips fans. I am mostly here to let you know I think the album 'Once Beyond Hopelessness' that you added is actually just called 'Christmas on Mars' and is already on BEA. I'm prepared to be wrong though, I don't have a physical copy, I'm just going off what Spotify and wikipedia say. Also, where can one find the movie itself??? I've been wanting to watch it for so long! maybe pm me how you got it, as I probably will forget to check back here

Hey. Great chart. I lived in Milwaukee from 2003-2010 and played in a few bands. Maybe I know you. Do you live in Riverwest? Were you in any bands?
